Founded in 2003 by Samiya and Evelyne, the Flaming
Sands Academy of Middle Eastern Dance quickly grew to become Wide
Bay Queensland's largest Bellydance Academy.
The opening of the Academy was celebrated by putting on workshops
and the Drums of Egypt concert with international guest teachers
and performers Hossam (Egyptian Percussionist) and Serena Ramzy
(Master BellyDance teacher).
The Academy itself has since grown to include a Middle Eastern
Percussion Group, the 'Drums Of Egypt' (named after the original
concert featuring Hossam and Serena) who perform alongside the
Flaming Sands Belly Dancers at events all over South East Queensland.
